For the past two years we have enjoyed going with Matt's side of the family to Longwood Gardens. We go at some point during the month of December to walk around the beautiful lights and gardens. I have gone a handful of times and am truly amazed at how pretty everything is! They must put hours and hours of work in to put all those Christmas lights up.
During the Christmas season, the best time to go is obviously at night when it's dark and all the Christmas lights are on. Last year, we had a 4 month old who just sat in the Baby Bjorn and took in all the sights and lights. It was great stimulation for her and even put her to sleep eventually! Matt and I enjoyed walking through the gardens, hand in hand, with our peanut strapped to our chest. It was so nice! This year was a bit different...ok A LOT different.
If you know our Hanny, she knows what she wants and is pretty determined to get what she wants. She loves to be free of hand holding and especially the stroller...so this proved to be a long night! We had her in the stroller for the first 20 minutes (just walking into the building) and then we stopped moving the stroller while Nancy & Christopher & their 4 month old got situated. As a mom, you know never to stop a stroller!! Something caught her eye and Hanny wanted OUT. Let's just say she wouldn't sit in the stroller the rest of the night. There was a lot of chasing and holding of this said little girl. Despite not having that peaceful walk through the gardens that Matt & I had last year, I know Hannah had a great time splashing in the water fountains (she was soaked the rest of the night), pulling petals off the poinsettias (hopefully no one saw??), and holding hands with Gidu & Teta (seriously the sweetest moment!). It was a fun time for us, just a little different...and possibly more exhausting :) We look forward to next year!
We took a few pictures but they turned out pretty crummy due to lighting...
